With participants in the general chapters, Pope Francis walked through the history of the two female religious institutes, reflecting on their shared mission of hospitality and care for the sick.

The Holy Father emphasized the importance of the “holy madness of love” that drives religious communities to serve those most in need, particularly people living with mental illness.

“Your charism of hospitality is a gift to the Church and to the world,” Pope Francis told the gathered sisters. “In a society that often turns away from suffering, you run towards it with open arms.“bf

The meeting brought together sisters from different countries to reflect on their mission and plan for the future of their congregations in an ever-changing world.
